Jet Analytics is more than just reporting: it is a data-warehouse automation solution (via the component Jet Data Manager) that helps you consolidate, model, and prepare data (from ERPs, databases, other sources) into a data warehouse and OLAP cubes, enabling efficient, governed reporting and analysis. An Analytics Connector is the bridge between your source data and the data warehouse/cubes managed by Jet Analytics. You need one Analytics Connector per data source that you want to bring into the warehouse or cubes.
Why Use Analytics Connectors
They allow you to consolidate multiple data sources (ERP, SQL, CRM, etc.) into a single source of truth, data warehouse or cubes, with no need for custom SQL or manual ETL coding.
They power the back-end of Jet Analytics (data warehouse + cubes), enabling users to fetch prepared, cleaned, and modeled data for reporting and analysis (e.g. in Excel or BI tools).
Relationship between Jet Analytics Connector and Jet Reports Connector
If you access data via a data warehouse or cube (managed by Jet Analytics), you do not need a separate Jet Reports Connector for that same source. The Analytics Connector suffices.
In other words: when using Jet Analytics + Data Manager, your “data source connector” licensing is handled via Analytics Connectors instead of Report Connectors.
Use Cases: When Analytics Connectors Are Ideal
When your reporting needs involve multiple data sources (ERP, CRM, databases, Excel files, etc.) and you want a consolidated, governed data store.
When you want to reduce reliance on IT or custom SQL, Jet Analytics builds data warehouse and cubes automatically.
When you want to empower business users analysts (or BI users) to build reports/dashboards without deep database/SQL knowledge.

Licensing & Connector Scope
As with Jet Reports, each data source you bring into Jet Analytics requires its own Analytics Connector license.
Once data is in the warehouse or cubes, report users (via Jet Reports or other front-ends) can connect without needing the original source connector.
