Replicate Data Sources in Jet Data Manager allows you to easily connect and manage multiple data sources that share the same structure. Once enabled, any tables or fields added to the template data source are automatically copied across all connected sources, saving time and ensuring consistency.
What Are Replicate Data Sources?
This feature is ideal for organizations that work with multiple databases containing identical schemas, such as:
Multiple branches or regions
Multi-company environments
Replicated SQL databases
Identical ERP company datasets
By configuring one source as the template, changes flow automatically to every additional data source connected under it.
How to Enable Replicate Data Sources
Follow these steps to set up and replicate your data sources:
1. Add the Template Data Source
Go to the Data tab.
Scroll down to the Data Sources section.
Right-click Data Sources and select Add Data Source.
Configure the initial data source.
In this example, a SQL Server data source is used, but any supported type works.
This first data source becomes your template.
2. Add Additional Data Sources
Once the template is added:
Right-click the template data source name.
Select Add SQL Server Data Source (or ODBC, NAV, etc., depending on type).
Configure the new data source with the required parameters.
Each added source appears under the template within an Additional Connections folder.
3. Automatic Replication of Tables and Fields
When you add tables or fields to the original (template) data source:
All changes automatically replicate to every data source under Additional Connections.
Structure remains synchronized across all linked data sources.
The system automatically pulls records from each source based on the shared structure.
For example, adding a new table and fields to the HAB data source will instantly apply the same updates to the GAB data source.

Why Use Replicate Data Sources?
Replicate Data Sources is especially useful when:
You manage multiple companies with identical ERP structures
You need to maintain schema consistency across regions
You want to reduce manual setup and repetitive work
You are centralizing data from several similar databases
This feature ensures accuracy, reduces maintenance time, and improves scalability.
Conclusion
Replicate Data Sources provides an efficient way to manage multiple identical data sources in Jet Data Manager. By establishing one template source and connecting additional sources under it, you ensure consistent structure and automated updates across your entire data environment.
