Overview
When installing Jet Hub, it is a good practice to disable the Default Welcome page from a security standpoint. The availability of a Default Welcome page is an indication of a newly installed server. It is recommended to disable the Default Welcome page while installing Jet Hub, as this leads the scammers to believe that the server is running without any awareness. Hence inviting unnecessary attention.
How to disable the IIS Default Page in Internet Information Services
- Launch Internet Information Services (IIS). See also the Microsoft documentation.
- In the left-hand pane, locate the Jet Hub site in the list of sites and select it. Jet Hub Home will open in the center pane.
- In Jet Hub Home, double-click Default Document which is displayed in the center pane.
- In the right-hand pane, under Actions, click Disable.
Default Document has been disabled and your Jet Hub site is now more secure.
